Exciting Book Day at BTC

On Friday 21 February all the Bethlehem reading- and book lovers had a chance to attend the first Book Day at Bethlehem Tutor Centre.

Pre-loved books were sold at bargain prices, and the little ones could listen to stories being read on the hour throughout the morning. Wrapped “mystery” books with a short indication of the content was at the centre of the beautiful display. A coffee shop setting with some tasty items to eat and drink completed a very enjoyable morning.

This Book Day was the brainchild of Malcolm Griffiths, a tutor at the centre. He worked tirelessly since the last term of 2024 to organise this lovely event, the first of more to come.

The learners of the centre were, as always, on their posts, assisting with all the tasks of the day - serving food and drinks, reading to the little ones, manning the entrance and exit routes, showing visitors around and doing what was needed to give the visitors a seamless experience.

The community is looking forward to more of these events, seeing that screens cannot replace the lure of books, as agreed among the visitors!
